Omega-3 Fatty Acid

- Essential unsaturated fatty acid whose 3rd carbon has double bind (C=C) at the end of carbon chain

- Functional effect : Can help improve neutral lipid in the blood/blood circulation

- Daily Intake : 500-2,000mg as the sum of DHA and EPA (Source : Ministry of Food and Drug Safety)

What is Omega3?

As a kind of unsaturated fatty acid, Omega 3 is the main component of cell membrane. Much distributed in brain, nervous system and retina, the shortage in Omega 3 leads to the failure of each tissue to function properly. It is essential, but not biosynthesized in the human body. Therefore, we must take Omega 3 as essential fatty acid.

However, people today are busy, and take much saturated fatty acid contained instant food or high calorie animal food rather than Omega 3 in fish. When such saturated fatty acid accumulated in the human body, neutral fat value gets higher, inhibiting blood circulation. Ideally, DHA and EPA should not be taken before an operation, because of their blood clot inhibitive effect. If you need to take them, it is recommended to take a properly refined product without mercury or heavy metal contained.

Effect of Omega3

 • Effective in reducing natural fat in the blood by inhibiting inflammation and blood clot, and lowers the risk of artery hardening and myocardial infarction.

 • Helps maintain healthy blood circulation by changing the blood vessels reactions and the characteristics of artery diseases.

 • Omega 3 accounts for about 20% of brain fat tissues, helping active brain cells to improve learning ability and dementia for prevention.

 • Helps the activation of brain cells for better feeling, which helps prevent/improve depression.

 • Activates immunity to mitigate inflammation in the human body.
This inhibits the production of inflammation harmful to the human body, with the secretion of biochemical that relieves inflammation.

 • Helpful hair loss prevention so that reduced inflammation makes hair follicle open.

 • Decreases fat oxidation level and stops excessive accumulation of fat. This reduces body fat, lowering the possibility of obesity-caused diseases.

 • The main components of cells in the eyes that accept light are helpful to improve eye health and eye sight.

 • Prevents cancer and suppresses the progress of cancer, by inhibiting cancer cells from being attached to blood vessels.

Categorization by molecule type

1st generation TG form

It has a structure where one molecule of glycerol combined with three molecules of fatty acid.

High bioavailability in form of Triglyceride in nature, which is extracted from fish, it has low purity because unsaturated fatty acid and saturated fatty acid combined to maintain the reliability of natural system.

2nd generation EE form

It was developed in artificial molecule where one molecule of ethanol and added to one molecule of ethanol, for the purpose of increasing the concentration.

It has small molecular weight, which means it has high concentration but low bioavailability because it is not in natural form.

3rd generation reTG form

It is in form of Triglyceride where EE form is esterificated again and then one molecule of glycerol combined with three molecules of fatty acid.

All of three fatty acids combined with glycerol are composed of EPA and DHA, which maintains high concentration and high bioavailability in the natural form.

Categorization by extract method

1. Molecular distillation

This extract method is generally used for Omega 3 products. Fatty acid is extracted by applying heat at high temperature of 200. Weak to heat, the molecular structure of fatty acid gets spoiled, acidified and deteriorated in quality.

2. CO2 Supercritical extraction

This method is to extract at low temperature of 50 or less. There is no risk of acidification or spoil, and no chemical residue as harmless CO2 is used instead of chemical organic solvent.

1. kd pur method

Specializing in Omega 3 ingredients, KD pharma is a worldwide known company. Its patented methods include Supercritical Extraction and Chromatography refining process. As Omega 3 ingredients used in this method are extracted and refined at low temperature of 50 or less, there are no risks of acidification or spoil by heat. In addition, as CO2 not harmful to the human body is used instead of organic solvent, there is no chemical residue. With no contact with oxygen in the production process, there is no risk of being contaminated by oxidation or mitochondria.

2. Clean and trusted ingredients

KD pharma only uses small fish without risk of heavy metal pollution, such as anchovy and sardine from the South Pacific Ocean. In addition, KD pharma acquired the European eco-friendly certificate, EMAS(Eco Management and Audit Scheme).

3. Strictly managed purity

KD pharma’s Omega 3 products are produced through strictly managed purity. For example, the system is managed not to contain heavy metals (peroxides, cadmium, mercury and lead) and unnecessary compounds, through analysis methods including spectroscopy and Chromatography.

4. Proud leadership member of GOED, KD PHarma

GOED (Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3) is an international association of Omega 3 makers.

GOED provides accurate and strict standards for quality and manufacturing method, for growth of Omega 3 market, screening and managing the companies that comply with its standards. Only companies that meet the membership standards are approved and they may use GOED logo.

KD Pharma acts as Leadership Member in which, amongst GOED members, only leading companies are enlisted.
