Vitamin E What is Vitamin E? Vitamin E is fat soluble, containing eight natural compounds with activated vitamin E. Generally, there are four types of tocopherol derivatives as the natural oxidant: α, β, γ, and δ.
The effect as the oxidant is the strongest in δ-tocopherol, and then α-, β- and γ-tocopherol in next order. Tocopherol has little toxicity, stained in added food.
In addition, its oxidation effect causes the loss of active oxygen and inhibits peroxidation lipid against harmful effect. Vitamin E is contained in sunflower seed, sesame, sunflower oil and nut. Increased absorption is ensured when such food is taken with dietary fat.

Effect of vitamin E 1. Cardio-vascular disease prevention Vitamin E prevents polyunsaturated fatty acid in LDL cholesterol membrane, against oxidation. A series of oxidation effect caused by the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acid leads to the oxidation of apo B protein to slow down degeneration. In addition, an epidemiologic investigation on the prevention of cardio-vascular disease showed that lower rate of heart disease cases in the subject with the intake of higher vitamin E. 2. Camcer prevention As vitamin E has oxidation effect that prevents oxidation by active oxygen, it is helpful for prevention/healing of a variety types of cancers, reducing the toxicity against the attack of anti-cancer in the therapy. 3. Intensified insulin sensitivity Vitamin E strengthens the insulin sensitivity of patients with diabetes, which minimizes the risk of rapidly lowered blood-sugar content. Those with diabetes, however, must consult with doctor before any intake of high content of vitamin E. 4. Dementia prevention With its strong oxidation effect, vitamin E inhibits the damage of brain cell due to oxidation and performs the important role for normal nerve system to inhibit the development of Alzheimer’s disease. 5. Enhanced immunity When vitamin E is provided more than 10mg for adults, it enhances and reduces the symptoms including abnormal immunity-inflammation, autoimmune diseases and disorders, atopic dermatitis and arthritis. 6. Helpful promote wound healing and remove scars.
