L-Arginine As the conditionally essential amino acid existing in all living organisms, L-Arginine is a natural type L-amino acid relatively much contained in sperm protein. Amino acid changes ammonia which is toxin into uric acid to be discharged as urine, being involved in the production of sperms. In addition, L-Arginine involves in important metabolism including cell division, wound healing, immune action and hormone secretion, which is essential to make Nitric Oxide (NO). From the aspects of in vivo biosynthesis, it is essential amino acid, but the amount of its biosynthesis is not sufficient for growing children and adults with external injury or disease who need to take it through fiber/nutrient supplement. Therefore, it is categorized as conditionally essential amino acid. The source of supply includes meat, fish, dairy products, nuts and chocolate. It is known as much contained especially in abalone.
Effect of L-Arginine 1. Increasing *Nitric Oxide (NO) to improve cardiovascular disorders Nitric Oxide (NO) expands vascular endothelium for better blood circulation, stopping from forming thrombus through blood coagulation and preventing artery hardening.
2. Strong antioxidant effect Reduces oxidation stress and prevents oxidation of cholesterol for the prevention of atherosclerotic.
3. Helpful in improving impotence and making sperm quality better to improve male infertility L-Arginine increases the production of Nitric Oxide (NO) to expand the blood vessel of penis. Such better blood circulation helps erection problem. Besides, the activity of sperm increased, and sperm is not damaged by active oxygen, improving male infertility problem. It is used to the cure of infertility in the combination of zinc, carnitine and Coenzyme Q10.
4. Enhances immune system It reinforces the quantity and activity of natural killer cell (NK) which is white blood cell from the thymus, thereby promoting bacteria/virus-associated hemophagocytic function and destructing cancer cells.
5. Involved in neutralization, detoxification and excretion of ammonia and protein metabolism products (toxin) in liver Biosynthesis of urea occurs in liver to remove in vivo, when Arginine is degraded from urea cycle into urea.
6. Activating growth hormone, preserving muscles and reducing body fat For teenagers, growth hormone plays an important role for the growth of skeletal system, while activating metabolism, helping body fat and building up muscles for adults. Arginine first burns fat as energy source, to protect protein and make use of it to make physical structures such as skeletal system, blood and nerves. That is why bodybuilders like to use it as their nutrients.
7. Increasing collagen Arginine promotes the production of amino acid called hydroxyprolin, making you have moisturized skin.
