Phosphatidylserine

What is Phosphatidylserine?

Phosphatidylserine is important phospholipid that comprises cell membranes of animals and mitochondria. It is most distributed in cerebral nerve cell membranes. As aging goes on, the content of phospholipid gets less in the important brain regions such as white matter, hippocampus and corpus callosum.

Taking phosphatidylserine increases the content of phosphatidylserine in brain cell membranes, thereby recovering brain function from aging. Currently, phosphatidylserine is widely recognized as brain food with the effect verified.

Effect of Phosphatidylserine

1. Improving brain function
Phosphatidylserine recovers brain function, by recovering the lowered liquidity of brain cell membranes caused by the aging of brain. When 500mg of phosphatidylserine was taken for 3 weeks by a female patient who has few brain activity, it was found that her brain starts to be activated.

2. Reducing stress
Phosphatidylserine inhibits the secretion of stress hormone called cortisol, while improving stress-caused depression, overweight and decline of immunization.

3. Fatigue recovery
It inhibits the intramuscular amino acid degradation due to hypersecretion of cortisol, thereby helping improve damaged muscle/ fatigue recovery after exercises.

4. Prevention of impaired memory

Phosphatidylserine prevents impaired memory, by preventing/recovering the reduced neurons and synapses, which are causes of brain aging.

5. Skin moisturizing

Phosphatidylserine helps maintain skin health from skin damage from ultraviolet ray, also helping skin moisturizing.
